White Sox Reliever Danny Farquhar In Critical Condition After Suffering Brain Hemorrhage Between Innings
credits: Orlin Wagner | source: [object Object] White Sox reliever Danny Farquhar fainted in the dugout in the middle of the sixth inning of Friday’s loss to the Houston Astros, and was taken to a local hospital for what was described initially as “ a precaution.”
Today the White Sox updated Farquhar’s condition, and it sounds pretty scary—the event was described as a brain hemorrhage, and Farquhar is apparently not out of the woods yet:
Farquhar, who is 31 years old, is in his seventh MLB season, and started the season in Chicago after signing there last June. He came on in relief of White Sox starter James Shields with one down in the top of the sixth inning and was roughed up for a ground-rule double and a home run before escaping the inning.
