Even The Mets' PR Staff Is Giving Up

Remember when the Mets were serious contenders in the NL East? Hahahahaha. That never happened. I mean, they were tied for first in early June, but then the earth kept rotating on its axis, and the next 90 or so games actually happened.

September baseball for teams out of contention is a miserable routine, with everyone involved no doubt counting the days until it's all over. This apparently includes the Mets' PR staff, which distributed post-game notes to reporters in the Citi Field press box that correctly identified the Phillies while simultaneously mistaking them for the Nationals. The Mets lost again, so it's not like it really mattered anyway.
