It's perfectly possible to lose weight without going on a crash diet. Tanu Goswami, a renowned nutritionist, has experienced this first-hand, losing 7 kg in just 21 days. Her method combines intermittent fasting and sport - but not only! By the end of the program, her legs were slimmer and she had a flat stomach. Tanu Goswami shared her experience on her Instagram (fit_nd_healthy1). Here's what you need to know!

Intermittent fasting: the basis of Tanu's method

With a meteoric rise in popularity in recent years, intermittent fasting needs no introduction. It involves alternating periods of food intake with periods of fasting. The most common protocol is 16/8, which means eating for 8 hours and fasting for the remaining 16. Since this is not a restrictive diet, there's no need to count calories or change your usual diet. It is, however, recommended that you eat a healthy, balanced diet.

In addition to weight loss, intermittent fasting offers other interesting benefits. It gives the organs of the digestive system, notably the liver and pancreas, time to rest, enabling the body to detoxify. Results: digestion improves, skin glows and a sense of well-being sets in. What's more, not eating in the evening boosts the fat-burning effects of nocturnal hormones.

Adopting a healthy lifestyle

For Tanu Goswami, intermittent fasting must be accompanied by a healthy lifestyle. She recommends walking 10,000 steps a day, sleeping at least 8 hours a night and staying hydrated by drinking 4 liters of water a day. She also stresses the importance of adapting daily protein intake to body weight, counting 1 gram per kilo. The nutritionist thus chose a global approach that enabled her to shed 7 kilos in 3 weeks. Her method also regulates blood sugar levels, stimulates metabolism and improves skin quality.

It's essential to consume non-caloric beverages such as herbal tea or sugar-free tea when fasting. Avoid milk, fruit juices, coconut water and, above all, alcohol. Another advantage of this program is that it can be maintained over time to avoid the yo-yo effect and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
