Florida Panthers Season Tickets Now Start At $7 A Game

A completely acceptable first reaction to this Panthers ticket plan is rage. Rage that you're in one of those hockey markets where all games are sold out, season-ticket waiting lists stretch for years, and going the scalper route can cost about as much as an HDTV, while down in South Florida, they can catch NHL action for the price of a Chipotle burrito.

Panthers attendance lags near the bottom of the league, though it did see a slight increase this past season. What better way to goose it upwards than to make seats obscenely affordable? The loss-leader plan, limited to 500 seats in the upper bowl, will run you about 300 bucks. It comes with a free jersey. It comes with tickets to four concerts. (The website's pitch also touts the new scoreboard, which I'm not sure has ever been a selling point for anything. But the fans already paid for it, might as well enjoy it.)
