Francisco Rodriguez Can't Pitch Because He Stepped On A Cactus
Francisco Rodriguez sees your weird spring training injury, Jake Peavy, and he raises you a foot full of cactus barbs.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Brewers reliever may not be able to make his spring training debut on Thursday after stepping on a cactus with his bare foot. Apparently, removing cactus barbs from a person's foot is not that easy:
"They took out a lot of the thorns but there's still some in there," said manager Ron Roenicke. "I don't think it's that big of a setback but I imagine he's pretty sore today. You know how little some of the thorns are and they break off in there. So, I don't know. But that's what's going on."
Unfortunately, we do not know why Francisco Rodriguez was walking around a cactus plant without any shoes on. That does not seem like a very wise thing to do.
