Free Cars In Cleveland This Week If The Browns Secure A Shutout That Will Never Happen
The deal from Bill Doraty's car dealership in Medina, Ohio, goes like this: Buy a KIA this week, and if the Browns shut out the Steelers on Sunday, it's free. The Steelers have won 21 of their last 23 games against the Browns. No team has shut the Steelers out since 2006. The Browns last blanked Pittsburgh in 1989. And the Browns are, well, you know, the Browns.
The Steelers also have a chance to clinch the AFC North title and a first-round playoff bye, which will happen if they win and the Ravens lose to the Bengals. The Browns? They can wrap up a .500 home record for the season, which is pretty much all the incentive they're gonna need, right? Vegas has put the odds at the Browns shutting out the Steelers at 5000 to 1, which the National Weather Service says is exactly half the odds of getting struck by lightning.
"Lightning can strike. You never know," Doraty said.
Just six percent of those polled by Cleveland.com think the Browns will actually win, let alone shut the Steelers out. Which begs the question: Wouldn't Browns fans just prefer to be struck by lightning?
