Girl Survives Bear Attack, Is Cooler Than Most Bears

We've got a little change of pace for this week's Bear Friday entry. Today's story features not a bear, but a 12-year-old girl who survived a bear attack and also happens to be the coolest 12-year-old girl ever.

Abby Wetherell was attacked by a near last Thursday near her grandfather's cabin in Cadillac, Mich. In the video above, Abby describes the ordeal while in unbelievably high spirits. The highlight is at the 1:25 mark:

His face was right in front of me so I was like, "I'm gonna pet you." So I petted the bear. I was like, "Please don't hurt me. I'm really not a bad person." And...that didn't work.

Abby continued to be awesome yesterday, when she was invited to visit the Detroit Tigers' clubhouse by team officials who had heard about the attack. While she was there, she got to meet her favorite Tigers player. Did she meet Miguel Cabrera? Justin Verlander? No! She wanted to meet Don Kelly. Don fucking Kelly!
