Gregg Popovich Requests Craig Sager Ask Him “Inane Questions” In The Sweetest Way Possible
Gregg Popovich is notorious for hating just about all interviews, but especially the league-mandated ones that take place during nationally televised games. But somewhere under that gruff exterior is a very kind man who has built a relationship with longtime TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager, and was incredibly supportive as Sager underwent treatment for leukemia.
Shortly after the announcement about his cancer, Craig’s son Craig Jr. interviewed Popovich for TNT, and Popovich promised to be nice whenever Craig Sr. returned. But Sager told he just wanted to get back to his job and talk to the normal, sassy, rude Gregg Popovich.
Tonight, for the first time since the 2013-14 season, Sager got to interview Popovich, and it didn’t disappoint.
