Huge Wreck Delays Cheez-It 355

Ryan Newman and Michael McDowell were involved in a significant wreck at the Cheez-It 355 in Watkins Glen that destroyed both cars. Ryan Newman spun out, slammed into the wall, and then spun back out into the track where he hit Michael McDowell. McDowell then went just has hard into the barrier on the other side of the track. Both men emerged from their vehicles and were treated and released on site.

The wreck happened in the 57th lap of 90 total laps in a location known to be difficult to maneuver through. The race was immediately put under a red flag and stopped. Crews are still trying to repair the track and the barriers that the cars crashed through.
