Hurler Outman Injured While Hurling Something Out
To land on the disabled list, some players might strain a calf muscle while working out at the gym or sprain their wrist in pursuit of a shallow flyball.
Other players, like new Rockies pitcher Josh Outman, puke their way onto the DL.
"The food poisoning, there was a lot of vomiting and I really believe he strained his oblique," Rockies manager Jim Tracy said. "He's been much better over the last couple of days but he hasn't been able to throw. We haven't been able to get him to the mound. So we're just going to err on the side of caution."
