In 1908, The Chicago Cubs' Mascot Was A Terrifying Squirrelbeast

OK, so I'm pretty sure that this abomination is supposed to be a bear (cub?), but you can't convince me that it doesn't look more like a nightmare squirrel that was spawned in the deepest pit of Hell. In fact, I don't think it's posing in this picture at all. I think the bloodthirsty beast is actually lurching toward the helpless photographer, who could do nothing in his last moments on Earth but light his flashbulb one last time, crying out at evil's true form.
