Marc Gasol's Slick Passing Is A Delight In Any Competition
Photo: Brandon Dill/ [object Object] Spain’s wonderful Gasol-led national team today took on a Czech Republic squad that was distressingly overpowered given the presence of Wizards’ backup and future All-NBA guard Tomas Satoransky. This was a Eurobasket group stage match, played in Romania.
Spain leapt out to a huge 23-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. With the score already way out of hand midway through the third quarter, the elder Gasol ran a nice high-low set with the younger Gasol, and Marc, holding off some overmatched Czech defender, dropped this bonita asistencia to Fernando San Emeterio, cutting back door:
Pau finished with the more dominant line, putting up 26 points and eight rebounds in 20 minutes of action, but Marc had the slicker highlight dish. Satoransky shot 3-of-12 and finished minus-24, which will make his ascent to the upper echelon of NBA point guards this season all the more impressive.
