Matt Kemp Gives A Young Disabled Fan His Cap, Jersey, And Shoes
Yeah, this is great.
Via the always-excellent Vin Scully Is My Homeboy, there's not a lot of detail on this YouTube video. Since it's in San Francisco, and there's still twilight, we'll guess it was after Sunday's Dodgers-Giants game at AT&T park—a nice antidote to the overhyped fan-on-fan violence this matchup has generated in the past (though there was some of that too).
The uploader says the kid is "fighting a tough battle," and after his dad spoke with Dodgers third-base coach Tim Wallach, Matt Kemp came over to say hello, and much more.
He signs a ball. He gives the fan his hat. Then his jersey. Then his shoes. This video is lovely.
