Minor League Baseball Fan Tries To Fight Opposing Pitcher After HBP

It got hot in the Texas League last night as a fan of the AA Corpus Christi Hooks charged the mound to attack Midland RockHounds pitcher Blake Hassebrock in the fifth inning.

Hassebrock, facing a 9-0 deficit to the Astros-affiliated home team, opened the bottom of the frame by hitting Hooks first baseman Telvin Nash with a pitch. KZTV tells us that sparked 35-year-old Nikolas Swope to run onto the field for a confrontation with the RockHounds hurler.

Police told KZTV Swope was under the influence of alcohol, which should be obvious of anyone choosing to attend a minor league baseball game in Texas in July.
