NBA Asked LeBron To Change His Badass Black Mask After One Game
LeBron James ditched his eye-catching protective mask after just one game for something not nearly as cool, thanks to the NBA.
The league didn't demand that James switch to a non-black mask, but he did anyway. (What would have happened if the most popular player in the league had said no?) Apparently, the NBA prefers that the masks be transparent. From the Los Angeles Times:
"It's not a league rule, but it's the league's request that you don't wear the black one," James told reporters before a 112-98 victory over the Orlando Magic in Miami on Saturday. "The reasons they told me didn't make sense to me, but I'm just a player. I will abide by the request."
The new mask—which LeBron wore last night against the Magic—is boring. James went from looking like a comic book character to Dwight Schrute performing CPR. Rest in peace, LeMask.
