New Era's "Chicago Vs. Chicago" Spot Is Actually Set At A Hoboken Bar
Official MLB cap provider New Era's launched a series of ads titled " Chicago Vs. Chicago" in which popular character actors Nick Offerman and Craig Robinson argue over the merits of the Cubs versus the White Sox. This debate takes place, as we're led to believe in an establishing shot, in a Chicago bar conveniently named "The Dividing Line." (One topic of conversation in the spots is the superiority of Chicago-style pie to New York pizza.)
Eagle-eyed reader Michael noted that he was familiar with the tavern standing in for The Dividing Line, and it's actually Hoboken dive bar Stinky Sullivan's, at the corner of Washington & Sixth:
While the ad folks did a decent job mocking up The Dividing Line, a closer look reveals they did a half-assed job Photoshopping over the storefronts of the other businesses down Washington from Sully's, which Michael reports to be "pretty awesome with an outstanding jukebox."
