Nick Saban: I Didn't Even Know Yesterday Was Election Day
Photo credit: Kevin Cox/ [object Object] At Alabama coach Nick Saban’s press conference this afternoon, a reporter asked him for his thoughts on the election and whether or not Saban thought coaches should avoid talking politics in public. “To be honest with you,” Saban lied, “I didn’t even know yesterday was election day. We’re focused on other things here.”
He then said that he doesn’t discuss politics out in the open because he doesn’t want to piss anyone off. Full video can be found below, via AL.com, and Saban gets asked about the election at the 12:20 mark.
He then kinda sorta tipped his hand, adding, “I want what’s best for our country, I want what’s best for people who want to improve the quality of their life. I hope whoever our leader is, he will certainly do all that he can do to make our country safe and improve the quality of life of a lot of the people that we have in our country.”
