Not A Good Weekend For Ankles And Legs In The Premier League

Take it away, Kevin Doyle:
Karl is a very clean and fair player. He apologised to all the lads at the end of the game… it was only because this game was live on TV that it attracted so much attention.
Jeet Kune Do specialist Nigel De Jong was not one to be left out of the action (this really isn't for the squeamish. It's not for anyone, really):
However, justice on the horizon. Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has dropped De Jong from the squad to face Moldova and Sweden in the forthcoming Euro 2010 qualifiers, giving this absolutely spot on assessment of the whole situation:
I've seen the pictures back. It was a wild and unnecessary offence. He went in much too hard. It is unfortunate, especially since he does not need to do it.
The funny thing is that the referee did not even show a yellow card for it. Apparently, there are other standards. But I have a problem with the way Nigel needlessly looks to push the limit. I am going to speak to him.
Can we please make this man head of the FA? He's shown more sense in eight sentences than English football's rulers have in over a decade.
