Opening Day Eve, Or Whatever They Call This
Tonight, The St. Louis Cardinals begin their defense of the World Championship. Providing the opposition for the World Champion Cardinals will be the New York Mets, who are not World Champions, and who the Cardinals beat in the NLCS last year en route to a World Championship. On the hill for the Mets will be Tom Glavine, and on the hill for the World Champion Cardinals will be World Champion Chris Carpenter.
Sorry, just thought someone should remind you.
Anyway, if you're looking for any sort of a preview, rather than even try, I'm just going to point you in the direction of McSweeney's, where you can read all about the genesis of Opening Day. That should get you sufficiently titillated for the new season.
