Phillies Finally Beat Dodgers On Walk-Off Error
On Friday, the Phillies fired Charlie Manuel and appointed Ryne Sandberg interim manager. He picked up where Charlie left off and was shut out in his first two games. But then Sunday rolled around and Hanley Ramirez decided to start handing out wins.
Earlier, with one out, Casper Wells—the eventual game-winning run—reached first on a Ramirez throwing error. Wells then advanced to third on Carlos Ruiz's single. After the Dodgers intentionally walked Jimmy Rollins, Ramirez booted Michael Young's likely inning-ending double-play ball, allowing Wells to score the game-winning run. It was the Phillies fifth win in 26 games.
