Reggie Bush Admits To "Harshly" Disciplining His 1-Year-Old Daughter [Update]

Lions running back Reggie Bush was a guest on the Boomer and Carton radio show yesterday, and he shared some extremely bad thoughts about Adrian Peterson and corporal punishment.

In the clip above, Bush is asked if he would ever discipline his kids the way Adrian Peterson did. Bush answered:

I most definitely discipline my daughter. I have a 1-year-old daughter, and I discipline her. Obviously, every person is different, and I definitely will use my best judgement to discipline her depending on the situation and what happens. I definitely will try to obviously not leave bruises or anything like that on her, but I definitely will discipline her, harshly, depending on what the situation is.

What the hell, man? Reggie Bush basically just told us that he is super cool with inflicting physical punishment on a fucking baby. A one-year-old is barely even a functioning life form, let alone one that needs to be disciplined in a way that might leave bruises. At this point, Bush's daughter barely has a handle on object permanence; she's not exactly equipped to derive behavioral lessons from getting hit by a grown man.

Update: Bush spoke to reporters today, and rowed his comments back. From ESPN:

"Obviously I'm not going to be spanking a 1-year-old girl," Bush said. "We do discipline her a little bit because she does this thing now where if she doesn't like something of if you say something to her she doesn't like, she kind of swings at you.

"So we're already starting to implement little things like talking to her and saying that's not OK. I think obviously people took it too far and [said] I was doing much worse and that's not the case."
