Report: Le'Veon Bell Out For The Season With "Badly Torn" MCL
Le’Veon Bell left the field during today’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals after catching a pass in the second quarter and getting tackled by Vontaze Burfict. Initial reports out of the Steelers’ locker room were “ optimistic,” but unfortunately, Bell’s injury is serious, as multiple prominent NFL reporters are reporting that Bell has a “badly torn” right MCL, and will miss the rest of the season:
Here is the tackle that did it for Bell, which, fair warning, is pretty gross to look at:
If these reports are indeed correct and Bell is out for the year, it’s been a lost year for the Steelers running back. He was suspended for the first two games of the year and only logged six games before his injury. The Steelers are 4-4 after today’s collapse/interception-fest against the Bengals, and have only had two games where both Ben Roethlisberger and Bell have played together.
