Information is still trickling in, but Mindy McCready, who at one time was involved in an affair with Roger Clemens, has reportedly committed suicide. In May 2008, The New York Daily News reported she was involved in a long term affair with Clemens going back to when she was 16 years old. McCready admitted the relationship was decades-long, it did not become sexual until years after they met. McCready was hospitalized for an attempted suicide in December of 2008. She had tried to kill herself at least two times prior to that.

Tonight, McCready reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot, little over a month after it was reported that her boyfriend and father to her infant son, David Wilson, also shot himself to death in his Arkansas home. Authorities later opened an investigation into the death, and McCready had denied any involvement in his death.

The mysterious death landed her back in rehab on February 6th when, petitioned by her father, a judge ordered her admission to an in-patient facility for treatement of "alcohol and mental health issues." In the petition, her father noted that she was sleeping all day, drinking and taking prescription drugs all night and not taking care of her children. She was released the next day when she passed various tests and the facility determined she was stable enough to complete the 21-day court-ordered program as an outpatient.
