Reports: Jags OC Grant Udinski WDs from Browns' head coach search
Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski talks to members of the media after an NFL training camp session at the Miller Electric Center, Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025 in Jacksonville, Fla. Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski withdrew his head coaching candidacy with the Cleveland Browns, multiple outlets reported Monday.
The Browns interviewed Udinski twice as they continue their search to replace Kevin Stefanski, who became the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons after getting fired by Cleveland.
Udinski, who turned 30 on Jan. 12, would become the youngest head coach in NFL history if he lands a job this cycle. He is still in the running for the Buffalo Bills' opening and also has a deal in place to remain in Jacksonville with a pay raise if he does not land a head coaching gig, per reports.
Sean McVay was 30 years and 353 days old when he landed his current position in 2017 as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams.
Udinski just concluded his first season on the coaching staff of the Jaguars, who were eliminated from the playoffs with a 27-24 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round.
Udinski broke into coaching at Baylor in 2019. Matt Rhule, then the Baylor head coach, became the Carolina Panthers' head coach the next year and Udinski joined him.
After two seasons with the Panthers, Udinski was hired by the Vikings in 2022 as assistant to the head coach/special projects. He became Minnesota's assistant quarterbacks coach in 2023, and in 2024 he received the title of assistant offensive coordinator.
