Saints RB Alvin Kamara seeks new contract, exits minicamp

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara left Thursday's mandatory minicamp prior to the final practice session due to contract-related reasons, his agent told NFL Network.
Kamara participated in the morning walkthrough before leaving the facility.
He has two seasons remaining on a five-year contract, although that final campaign in 2025 may not come to pass. He is set to earn a base salary of $10.2 million in 2024 before it expands to $22.4 million the following year.
Kamara, who will turn 29 next month, rushed for 694 yards and five touchdowns and added 75 catches for 466 yards and a score in 13 games last season. He was suspended for the first three games of the campaign because of an off-field incident in Las Vegas.
A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Kamara has rushed for 5,829 yards and 54 touchdowns while making 505 catches for 4,219 yards and 23 scores in 101 career games with the Saints.
