Skip Schumaker lifted the Cardinals to a dramatic 11th inning victory over the Cubs with one of the night's two walk-off homers (video of the other one after the jump). The unlikely hero got just enough of Chad Fox's offering to send it over the wall for the 5-3 victory, and saving from Jason Isringhausen another loss. Izzy walked two, and gave up a home run to Alfonso Soriano. It was the third blown save of the season for the beleaguered closer Jugs machine. • Brian Wilson wants to go back to bed. Pat Burrell played the hero role to critical acclaim with a huge home run in the bottom of the tenth inning.

• Did he catch a pop fly in his hat?b Miguel Tejada didn't hit a walk-off home run, but to Jacob Scott he was the night's biggest hero. When Miggy met the eight year-old fan, suffering from muscular dystrophy, he was so touched that the shortstop promised to hit a home run on his behalf. The Astros were losing when Miggy went deep off of Carlos "Hirsute" Villanueva, and from there the proverbial flood gates were opened. Lance Berkman and Carlos Lee followed Miggy's lead for Houston's first back-to-back-to-back home runs of the season. But neither one of them promised shit.
