Super Bowl Betting Preview: Seahawks vs. Patriots Breakdown & Pick
The Seattle Seahawks will take on the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Truthfully, this Super Bowl seems to lack hype, and I’m not entirely sure why.
The Patriots have found plenty of success this season. They went 14-3, including a perfect 8-0 record on the road. They’ve also handled business in the playoffs, although it hasn’t been the toughest tests.
New England currently ranks third in the NFL in points allowed (.298) per play. They also rank sixth in points (.440) per play. They also rank second in the NFL, winning their games by an average of 9.9 points per game.
The Seahawks have been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL, and they’ve been the best team throughout. They also posted a 14-3 record, but they played in arguably the hardest division in the NFL.
Overall, Seattle leads the league in points per play (.490), points allowed per play (.275), and average scoring margin (+12.1). It’s been an unbelievable season in every aspect.

There are two major keys as to why I trust the Seahawks in this game.
First, they’ve performed better against tougher opponents. The Seahawks have featured one of the hardest schedules in the NFL throughout the season. They’ve consistently dominated some of the best teams in the league, and it’s allowed them to find success throughout the playoffs.
The Patriots have had one of the easiest schedules in the NFL this season. One can make a strong case that it was the easiest schedule in the league. Granted, there isn’t anything New England can do about this, and they’ve handled business in games that they need to handle business.
Ultimately, I prefer the team that has found more success against better teams throughout the season.
Second, this game will be close to a home game for the Seahawks. It’ll be a short trip to Santa Clara for Seattle, while New England will have to travel across the country. It is easier to go to the West Coast from the East Coast, though.
I’m not entirely sure this is going to matter with New England’s country-wide fanbase, but it’s a bonus for Seattle.
We’re getting a spot where one team has consistently proven themselves throughout the season, while the other team has handled what’s been in front of them. I prefer Seattle on both sides of the ball here, giving them a massive edge.
