Here’s something fun from Thursday’s Lightning-Stars game. Dallas forward Jamie Benn worked his way through the neutral zone while sliding on his knees, stood up, and passed the puck to teammate Patrick Eaves. Eaves didn’t score, but it’s still a cool little highlight from Benn.
Nothing really went right in Dallas’s 6-2 loss to the Rangers, but it was a particularly bad night for the Stars’, uh, stars. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin were benched with 12 minutes left, after being on the ice for three straight Rangers goals.
Stars captain Jamie Benn dished out a team-high 52 assists last season. He is a generous teammate and a selfish lover:
Today in "headlines I never thought I'd write."
This was the game's only goal, a near-90-degree deflection from Jamie Benn early in the second period, a completely unsaveable puck for Jonathan Quick. Don't make the mistake of believing this was a fluke win, though; This was perhaps the most dominant 1-0 victory in recent memory.
Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen had no problems resting his feet late in a 7-3 laugher in Calgary. If by some miracle the Flames had made it closer, Jamie Benn would have just set up Tyler Seguin for another goal or two.
