The Downside Of Faith And Football
This image was lost some time after publication. When we first started this site, we were wondering the best places to find sources from within teams to dish some dirt. We figured beat reporters, sports information guys, groupies, so on. But one friend told us: "Team chaplains. Those guys know everything. Might be tough to get them to talk, though."
We were reminded of this story when we read this about Colts team chaplain Ken Johnson. The lede to the story is endlessly entertaining: Johnson being forced to pay a $25 cover charge to enter a strip club and drag a player out by his ear. We suspect that happens a lot.
The notion is somewhat depressing: A guy like Johnson, whose life story is one of perseverance over adversity, forced to spend the prime of his career dragging athletes out of strip clubs. Nice work, if you can get it.
