The Learning Curve: The Replacement Refs
This segment is called " The Learning Curve" where you, young blog proprietor, will get a link to your new site on Deadspin. Any and all questions you may have about being a successful blogger will (hopefully) be answered.
Not by me, though. Consider this a "Dear Abby" for blog publishers and, you, proud, angry, often cruel commentariat should provide your helpful tips on success.
Now, thick skin is a requirement for every blogger. But do try to be helpful as well.
Don't just torture all these people and trounce on their dreams in the comments — email them your tips, your real suggestions, your advice, etc. Touch lives and all that.
Today; The Replacement Refs, a zebra-centric blog:
Deadspin,
With all the hoopla surrounding the NBA replacement refs (and MLB umpires) recently, it was time to step up and insert Replacement Refs dot com into the blogsphere. Yeah, I just started it and put up some content to make it look established (shhh), but it had to be done. I have high expectations for this blog, as I hope it will one day reach the status of an Awful Announcing, but you know, mostly about sports officials. This will give everyone their venue for quality content and to check out who's reffing/officiating/umping whatever each sport calls the dudes who blow or throw piss colored flags in the eyes of innocent Cleveland defensive linemen for a living.
The name is not witty and as one friend put it, leaves a lot to be desired, but with a lot of drugs and living a life of solitude, the content will make up for what it lacks in its title. This blog is going to bring you anything I feel like, with the focus generated toward easy targets like anything Cleveland (see above), Michigan's economy, Vince Young, A.J. Pierzynski, and of course, sports referees.
Now, I know what people are saying, i.e., "Honestly, how many people actually visit any of these blogs after they're done pleading their case on here?"
BruschisBrewsky, I honestly don't think very many people visit these blogs after we're done pleading our case on here. I'm just hoping you guys make an exception for Replacement Refs dot com. That's all I, or any other of these blogs, can ask for. Did you know Umpire Joe West looks like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show? Or that Angel Hernandez looks eerily similar to Peter North? You'll learn soooo much when you read Replacement Refs dot com.
Anyway, that's my spiel... be gentle.
Please help.
