The Los Angeles Angels of Sucktown
Well I was going to wait for this baseball game to end to call it a weekend, but I think it's safe to say that it's over. The Boston Red Sox have exploded with seven runs in the eighth inning to take a 9-0 lead. The only runs that really mattered were the back-to-back solo shots from Big Papi and Crazy Ass Manny. The Angels are well on their way to getting swept out of the post season like the Cubs and Phillies before them. Curt Schilling was about as dominant as he can be these days. The veteran windbag yielded just seven base runners in his seven innings of work.
So all that's left to decide in this divisional round is the fate of the New York Yankees. It seems unlikely that they can come back to win the series, but they should certainly avoid the sweep tonight. Unless they're trying to get the Big Stein to shitcan Torre. Assuming the Red Sox finish this one off in timely fashion the Yankees and Indians should start things off on TBS at 6:30.
Enjoy your evening everyone, and thanks for sticking around after this morning's screwiness.
