The NBA Will Appoint Someone To Run The Clippers For Now
Donald Sterling's pushed out of the NBA for life, but no one's bought the Clippers yet. (That may take a while if Sterling goes to court.) Who will run the team in the meantime?
The NBA plans to appoint a CEO to take care of the Clippers' operations right now. Team president Andy Roeser, who was assumed to take over the team, will answer to the unnamed CEO instead.
Commissioner Adam Silver acted quickly in removing Sterling from the league to show that he wouldn't tolerate that behavior. In this less important but still notable move, how long will an NBA-appointed employee runs the Clippers? Will the person stay in power for the draft, or even free agency? Sterling's ousting was quick, but the aftermath might take much longer on multiple avenues.
