NFL Playoff Sunday January 11th Picks: Top Wild Card Bets
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills get the Sunday slate of Wild Card games going.
It’s so difficult not to just back Josh Allen here. The best players find success in the biggest game, but it’s still a team sport. These two teams aren’t built nearly on the same level, and I’m not sure Allen can make up for that.
These offenses are fairly similar. They both rank in the top 10 of the NFL in points per play, but there’s one key factor. The Buffalo Bills have been bad on the road, while the Jacksonville Jaguars have been outstanding at home.
We’ve also seen Trevor Lawrence take the step forward that many have been begging for for years. Over his last six games, he’s accounted for 19 touchdowns and only 1 turnover.
The bigger difference for these teams is defense. Jacksonville ranks sixth in the NFL in points allowed (.324) per play, and that number drops to .258 at home. Buffalo ranks 20th in the same category (.384), although they’ve also been better on the road.
Allen is the type of player who can will his team to a victory here, but all of the signs are pointing toward Jacksonville finding more success at home.

The San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles are both dealing with a key injury to their offensive line. Trent Williams is questionable, ending the week with two limited practices. Lane Johnson has been limited the entire week, and he’s also questionable.
If either of these two players is out, that will be a major boost to the opposing defense. They play such major roles along their offensive line that we could see the point total shift a bit if either is ruled out. It is important to note that both are expected to play, although they’re expected to be at less than 100%.
This is a relatively simple matchup where Philadelphia boasts an elite defense, and San Francisco could struggle to travel here. On the other side, the 49ers have struggled defensively, but there isn’t much to suggest the Eagles will find elite offensive success all of a sudden.
We can also add that Philadelphia should be able to control the pace here, and they play at one of the slowest paces in the NFL. We should see limited opportunities to score, and both teams should rely heavily on their defenses in the game.
