NHL.com has been celebrating the 20th anniversary of the wildly popular video game by ditching high definition for boxy pixels and it is awesome. You can almost hear the "It's not even so much me, it's Roenick. He's good."
The NHL, more than any other league, is great with these kinds of things. There is a great social media presence, regular highlights are quickly uploaded for viewing on YouTube and the league caters to fans with cool shit like video game-inspired highlights. If only it would stop locking out its players.
