The Other Curry Can Do Cool Basketball Shit Too
Photo via [object Object] Tonight, the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Su—oh, who gives a shit? Both Pacific Division trashcans are in the midst of a tank-off and the Kings coaching staff didn’t even know that Boogie Cousins wasn’t playing until they couldn’t find him on the plane.
Meaningless as the game was, someone had to win. Thanks to the heroics of Seth Curry, the Kings lost some ping pong balls and won the game. The last 30 seconds featured a wonderful bit of tanking and countertanking, where the Suns fouled Ben McLemore away from the hoop while down two. McLemore then proceeded to miss both free throws. Okay.
However, it wasn’t all dogshit. Seth Curry had himself a game in Rajon Rondo’s absence and put up 20 points and 15 assists in the start. The counting stats are cool and good, but he kinda sorta moved like dime-store Steph at times.
This little feint, spin, three is right out of his older brother’s playbook.
He isn’t nearly as graceful as Steph, but he can also find weird angles and seams in defenses.
This one might be my favorite, where he combines the dark arts of the Rondo ball fake with his brother’s scoop floater.
You want dunks? Good.
I can’t wait for the Curry Derby in next year’s Western Conference Finals.
