The Royals Just Can't Score

Last Thursday, the Royals sat just a half-game out of the American League’s crowded wild card race. They have played four games since, and they have not scored a run in any of them.

Given that they didn’t score in the last seven innings of that game on Thursday, their scoreless streak now sits at 43 innings. They’ve struck out 32 times and allowed 35 unanswered runs. Tonight’s game against the Rays was perhaps the most painful showing in their streak, with just two hits.

If the Royals can stretch their drought out just six more innings, they’ll make history:
