Thieves down Guerrillas in CDL Major 1 qualifying

The Los Angeles Thieves remained perfect in Call of Duty League 2025 Stage 1 Major qualifying, earning a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 on Friday.

The Thieves improved 3-0, while the Guerrillas slipped to 0-3.

In other action as Week 2 got underway, Cloud9 New York topped the Minnesota Rokkr 3-1, the Boston Breach held off the Miami Heretics 3-2 and OpTic Texas defeated the Vancouver Surge 3-1.

The 12 CDL teams are competing online for seeding in the Stage 1 Minor, scheduled for Jan. 10-12, and the Stage 1 Major, scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 2 in Madrid.

On Friday, the Thieves opened with a 250-241 win on Rewind Hardpoint and a 6-3 victory on Skyline Search and Destroy. The Guerrillas claimed Vault Control 3-1 before the Thieves eked out a 250-249 win on Skyline Hardpoint.

Cloud9 took Protocol Hardpoint 250-227 and Skyline Search and Destroy 6-5 before the Rokkr captured Vault Control 3-0. New York sealed the series with a 250-109 blowout on Skyline Hardpoint.

The Breach claimed Vault Hardpoint 250-208 and Rewind Search and Destroy 6-2 before the Heretics pulled level by taking Vault Control 3-1 and Red Card Hardpoint 250-205. Boston prevailed on the decisive fifth map, Skyline Search and Destroy, 6-2.

After the Surge won Red Card Hardpoint 250-227, OpTic rolled through the next three maps: 6-1 on Red Card Search and Destroy, 3-1 on Vault Control and 250-109 on Protocol Hardpoint.
