Maybe she had a stomach bug? Maybe she was tired of all the 40-all scores? Whatever the reason, Woz laid a stinker on the court at the French Open today and was ousted by Estonian Kaia Kanepi, 6-1, 6-7 (3-7) 6-3.
The former Number 1 was not her usual mellow self, instead she blamed the officiating for her journey down.
The former top-ranked Dane argued several line calls in the match, including a ball that was judged to have hit the baseline early in the second set. "It's a disgrace that mistakes like this are made," Wozniacki said. "It wasn't even like, 'Could have been in, could have been out.' It was clearly out."
It's understandable that she's frustrated, athletes routinely put their bodies through tremendous strain for glory—it's frustrating when it doesn't work out.
