Tom Brady Reveals That His Thumb Injury Was Gross

It feels like so long ago that practically every New England media member scrutinized Tom Brady’s gloved throwing hand to figure out if it was seriously injured, right before the Jaguars-Patriots AFC title game. Thanks to the last episode of Brady’s Facebook docuseries, we now have a good look at the damage done by Rex Burkhead’s helmet in practice. It’s pretty much what was described at the time:
The cut did require more than 10 stitches and is on the inside part of his hand, near his thumb, a source told ESPN’s Mike Reiss, and there was significant blood.

Yuck. A harried Brady completed 26 of 38 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns as the Patriots squeaked by Jacksonville 24-20, and he did it with that. Not bad.
