Trump: "I Don't Like [Autocratic Syrian War Criminal Bashar Al-] Assad At All, But ..."
At the end of a long, rambling answer nominally about the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Aleppo, Donald Trump just praised Bashar al-Assad—one of the principal perpetrators of that disaster—for, in his words, “fighting ISIS.”
Just so we’re clear, here, the ongoing slaughter in Aleppo has nothing to do with ISIS—ISIS is not present in Aleppo—and Bashar al-Assad is a monster. Here’s Donald Trump’s own running mate, Mike Pence, saying the United States should use military force against Assad in last week’s vice presidential debate:
