Vin Scully Raced Jackie Robinson On Ice Skates

For those of us living on the East Coast, there's no better teller of bedtime stories than Vin Scully. The embodiment of a man who has forgotten more about baseball than any of us will ever know, Scully weaves narratives from his 63 years with the Dodgers into his description of the events on-field with the deftness of a Pee Wee Reese-to-Jackie Robinson double play.

Scully spun a tale about that same Jackie Robinson last night, and in a rarity Vin himself is a major character to the story. We'll let him tell it in the video above, but the gist is that Vin Scully once raced Jackie Robinson on ice skates—and it was the first time Jackie'd ever skated. [KCAL]
