Virginia's Mike London "Formerly" Extends Scholarship Offer
The University of Virginia is one of America's most august institutions of higher learning, and most alumni know that very well. Head coach Mike London was not a Wahoo; while he will hear grumbles for "formerly" extending a written scholarship offer, UVa fans will also be happy to not claim him.
London's gaffe is on a formal scholarship offer to Virginia commit Jordan Jackson, and it's not the only issue with the letter—which we should note he probably didn't write out himself. But compared to subbing "formerly" for "formally," one comma where a colon or dash should be in "all levels, high school, college, and the NFL" and the use of "PHD" for "Ph.D." are benign.
