Vladimir Putin Warns Gay Olympic Visitors To "Leave Children Alone"
Good news, gays and lesbians planning to go to the Sochi Olympics! Russian President Vladimir Putin says you won't be arrested and thrown into prison as long as you keep your gay away from the children.
It's less than three weeks until the start of the games, and Putin was in Sochi speaking with a group of Olympic volunteers. In comments reported by Russian news services and relayed by , Putin tried to explain that the actual act of being gay is not a crime, only "propaganda" and forcing yourself on children, which we all know is high on the homosexual agenda.
"We are not forbidding anything and nobody is being grabbed off the street, and there is no punishment for such kinds of relations," said Putin. "You can feel relaxed and calm , but leave children alone please," said Putin."
In further comments, Putin sounds—well, he sounds like a good portion of Americans, conflating homosexuality and pedophilia. Putin drew a distinction between "traditional" Russia, and the gay-friendly countries of Europe, some of which, he said, were planning to legalize pedophilia. When asked which ones, he declined to answer, because it's not actually true.
"We have our own traditions, our own culture. We have respect for all of our international partners and ask that they also respect our own traditions and culture."
No gaying up the Russian kids.
