Watch CBS Herp And Derp Its Way Through The Super Bowl Power Outage
Drew already highlighted how last night's Super Bowl blackout led to some spectacularly bad television. From repeated assertions that the game would resume "in about 15 [or 20] minutes" to sideline reporters fumbling for words, the Tiffany network spread fecal material all over the Superdome and our living rooms. (Shannon Sharpe's goofy power surge puns and the multiple suggestions that the 49ers substitute in quarterback Alex Smith didn't help.)
The reality is CBS provided nothing of substance during the 34-minute delay. We'll discuss later what we think they ought to have done, but for now here's a short compilation of CBS saying stupid things.
