As worked up as we all were for the results of Baseball Hall of Fame voting, I suppose the players who got in were probably even more excited. As is tradition, cameras were rolling when Chipper Jones, Vladimir Guerrero, Jim Thome, and Trevor Hoffman received the phone calls letting them know they’ve got a date in Cooperstown this summer.
Now I’m smiling!
Of course, the flipside of these videos is the certainty that a camera crew was at Edgar Martinez’s house, in case yesterday had been his day. (He fell 20 votes shy of induction.) And now I’m wondering how close you have to be in the projections to prepare for the possibility. Did Mike Mussina have a camera rolling? Did Curt Schilling? Did Barry Bonds?
