White Sox Promote Adam Engel From Triple-A
Photo credit: Jennifer Stewart/ [object Object] Today, the Chicago White Sox promoted center fielder Adam Engel from Triple-A Charlotte, where he was hitting .221/.312/.463. Engel takes a roster spot vacated by utility man Tyler Saladino, who is on the 10-day disabled list with “sciatic nerve related stuff.” Engel got a hit in the eighth inning of a 4-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers while making his major-league debut.
Manager Rick Renteria says Engel has “potentially the ability to hold his own at the plate,” according to Vinnie Duber of CSN Chicago.
In other Pale Hose news, the team celebrated the signing of a teenager out of the Uncanny Valley.
