Mandatory Credit: Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images The New York Yankees acquired reliever Angel Chivilli from the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday for outfield prospect T.J. Rumfield.
Chivilli, 23, was 1-5 with a 7.06 ERA in 43 appearances out of the Colorado bullpen in 2025. The right-hander went 2-3 with a 4.55 ERA and one save in 30 games (no starts) as a Rockies rookie in 2024. He has struck out 71 batters and walked 33 in 90 1/3 career innings.
Rumfield, 25, batted .285 with 16 homers and 87 RBIs in 138 games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in his fifth season in the minors in 2025. He was a 12th-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2021.
To make room for Chivilli on the 40-man roster, the Yankees designated outfielder Michael Siani for assignment. Siani, 26, was selected off waivers last week from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
