You, Too, Can Invest In A 25-Year Old Pitcher

So here's a clever idea: A minor league baseball player, trying to essentially hedge bets on his career, is offering fans a share of his future salary. It kind of makes sense.

Here's how it works:

The 25 year-old pitcher is offering 4% of all his future major league earnings for $50,000. If you don't have that kind of money, you can buy a share of that 4% for $20.

One share is $20. Newsom, who does seem kind of clever, was the guy sent from Boston to complete the Coco Crisp trade. We'd absolutely buy a share at $20. Ya never know; if Kip Wells can find employment in the bigs, we'd have to think this guy is worth a shot.
