49ers' New Stadium Will Host Kings-Sharks Game
Brand-new Levi's Stadium will play host to the latest edition of the NHL's Stadium Series, with the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks meeting in Santa Clara on Feb. 21.
It's the second straight year with an outdoor game in California; the first also featured the Kings, who lost to the Anaheim Ducks at Dodger Stadium in January. The Sharks, who blew a 3-0 series lead to eventual champs Los Angeles in the first round of the playoffs, will be playing in their first outdoor game.
Last year's game at Dodger Stadium put to rest most fears about playing in California. The weather was in the low 60s at puck drop, but the ice never seemed to be an issue. No word on who will join the festivities for the pregame ceremonies (last year L.A. had KISS,) but perhaps Vallejo-native E-40 can make an appearance.
