76ers Apologize For Preventing Singer With "We Matter" Shirt From Singing Anthem

The Philadelphia 76ers did some dumb shit before their home opener on Tuesday night, cancelling singer Sevyn Streeter’s scheduled performance of the national anthem because Streeter was wearing a shirt with “We Matter” written on it.

The organization caught a lot of heat for spiking Streeter’s performance, and apparently drew the ire of some of the players. A team rep met with the players for 40 minutes yesterday, and the organization has just issued this apology:
