76ers Apologize For Preventing Singer With "We Matter" Shirt From Singing Anthem
[object Object] The Philadelphia 76ers did some dumb shit before their home opener on Tuesday night, cancelling singer Sevyn Streeter’s scheduled performance of the national anthem because Streeter was wearing a shirt with “We Matter” written on it.
The organization caught a lot of heat for spiking Streeter’s performance, and apparently drew the ire of some of the players. A team rep met with the players for 40 minutes yesterday, and the organization has just issued this apology:
